The Office of the Auditor General has vetted the internal audit report into the operations of the Land Transport Authority which has implicated a number of LTA officials in the illegal issuance of mini bus licenses.

Ministry of Transport confirmed this afternoon that there are now two separate investigations into the LTA.

The Ministry says LTA's Acting CEO Aseri Radrodro led the internal audit by a team of Management appointed by the Minister Colonel Timoci Natuva, following which the Auditor General was called in to carry out an independent investigation to varify the findings of the special audit.

It says the report from the Auditor General was handed to the Minister on Friday, who will now inform the Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama and cabinet on the findings.

The other factors highlighted in the audit will be dealt with by the Minister and Permanent Secretary.

It was earlier highighted by Fijivillage news that the internal audit into LTA also found that vehicles were transfered to new owners without proper procedures, illegal renewals of licenes and vehicle registrations and illegal passing of vehicles.
