It will be a special Christmas for Airports Fiji Limited workers as AFL will pay $600,000 in Christmas bonus to all the staff.
The bonus pay was approved and announced by Attorney General and Minister for Public Enterprises Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum early this morning.
Sayed-Khaiyum took the good news to the staff gathered at Nadi International Airport at about 7 o’clock this morning.
He says the bonus was paid based on a strong financial performance by AFL in 2015.
Sayed-Khaiyum says as per its management accounts, AFL is forecasting an end of the year record profit of $40 million before tax and $32 million profit after tax.
Sayed-Khaiyum says AFL’s Executive Chair, Faiz Khan has told them that in addition to this end of the year across the board bonus paid to all, AFL throughout the year recognizes exceptional performances of individuals and rewards them with higher pays or promotions.
He says the $600,000 across the board bonus incentive pay is over and above the ongoing performance review pay increments of the departments and individuals.
Faiz Khan says the bonus will be paid at the rate of 5% of base salary at the time of the bonus payment.
Khan says AFL is on the right path to leave a lasting image to our visitors when they arrive into Fiji and when they leave us.
He says we are on the right path to become a true hub of the Pacific.
