The Asian Development Bank today launched its new approach to improve development effectiveness in the Pacific region from 2010 to 2014.

Speaking via video conferencing at the launch this afternoon, Principal Economist Steve Pollard highlighted that through the Pacific approach, the ADB will be able to deliver improved assistance to its Pacific developing member countries by establishing greater consensus and ownership of programs and projects.

Pollard said the ADB believes there is much room for development in the pacific states.
