Wing Waisake Naholo’s use of an alternative treatment for a broken leg bone has won the backing of All Blacks coach Steven Hansen.
Hansen says he is a believer and if Naholo thinks what he is doing will make him get better then they will have one more person to select for the World Cup.
He is quoted saying “I know of the treatment because I was over there not so long ago, before Waisake got injured, and they were talking about it.
Hansen said who are we to boo‑hoo alternative medicine considering that the Chinese have been doing it for years.
He then said that their medical people would have to do all the X‑rays, and do checks on Naholo, and have a real understanding of what he can and can’t do.
Hansen will name his final 31‑man squad for the Rugby World Cup on the 30th of this month.
