A visit is all we want
This is the plea from residents of the Samabula Old People's Home on Christmas Eve, as many have gone through the year without a visit from their relatives and they feel abandoned and forgotten during this special time of year, with many wanting to spend time with family.
A resident, who wished not to be named, said many of the residents who have families are the ones who find special times like Christmas sad, when they do not get visits, as they know in the past, they've shared fond memories during this period.
He adds a visit is all they want this Christmas.
Meanwhile, Leadership Fiji Class of 2009 Team Leader Tupou Halofaki who was at the Home yesterday with her group to donate a new hot water system as well as 40 blankets, said people have sadly forgotten the true meaning of Christmas and its people, like those staying at the Home, who are the ones who suffer as a result of people's ignorance.
