A lot at stake for 7s team
The Iliesa Tanivula coached side who came into the London 7s as third favorites, are currently second in their Pool, as the winner for this match will progress into the Cup Semifinal while the loser will be relegated to the Plate semifinals.
However, if Fiji loses to New Zealand and is relegated to the Plate Semifinal, and wins the Plate, Fiji will get only 8 points, but if we make it to the Cup Semifinals, we will get 12 points and this will see Fiji's overall standings in the IRB World Rankings improve.
Last year, Fiji made it to the Cup final but lost 14-19 to Samoa, and Tanivula has given an ultimatum to his boys and that is to make it through to the finals.
In their Pool Games, the Digicel Fiji 7s side registered their first loss of the Tournament going down 7-12 to Scotland, but managed to bag two wins which now sees them sit second in the Pool with 7 points.
Looking at the quarterfinals: at 11.28pm tonight, the first quarterfinal sees South Africa taking on France while Fiji will meet New Zealand in the second quarter final at 11.50pm.
Scotland takes on Portugal in the 3rd semifinal at 12.12am, with the last quarterfinal at 12.34am which sees England taking on Australia.
The finals of the London 7s will be at 5.52am tomorrow morning.
