After completing their assessments the Latter Day Saint Church will be organising a drive aimed at collecting and purchasing essential items which most of the flood victims are without.
Flood Appeal Organiser, Lin Bothwell said they have completed their assessments which covered areas from Sigatoka to Rakiraki and alot of people still need assistance.
Bothwell said school children in Rakiraki need all the help they can get before school starts on Monday.
Meanwhile a truck load of food items will be distributed to the flood affected victims of Ba and Nadi by Golden Manufactures.
Speaking to Fijivillage News, Sales Executive Rakesh Kumar said they will try to assist more than 300 people in the flood affected areas.
Kumar adds that they will be distributing the food ration themselves tomorrow with the assistant of their staffs.
One of the churches who has offered assistance to the flood affected victims in the Western Division said alot more people need assistance.
Latter Day Saint Church Flood Appeal Organiser, Lin Bothwell said they have visited the Rakiraki area and people especially school children need all the help they can get before school starts on Monday.
Bothwell said the LDS group are continuing to conduct assessments around flood affected areas to see who needs immediate assistance adding tomorrow there will be a clothing drive in Suva for those who need help.
Meanwhile, the flood appeal to Get the Children Back to School has collected more than $70,000 till afternoon today.
Organised by Communications Fiji Limited's radio stations, the flood appeal will continue till tomorrow 6pm and organisers are predicting a larger amount to be collected tomorrow.
Appeal Coordinator and Navtarang Programmes Director Satya Nand said this has only been achieved through peoples generous support.
