That is the vision of the current government as it continues to embark on its major plan, the Strategic Framework for Change.
While opening Fiji's 40th anniversary independence day celebrations at Suva's Albert Park today, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama stressed that practical applications are necessary through reforms to ensure that the country achieves its aim to have a fair, just and inclusive nation.
Commodore Bainimarama also said with all the current reforms being undertaken, the people of Fiji have been remarkable by showing open mindedness to the changes.
The Prime Minister said with all issues addressed and the reforms implemented, Fiji will have true democracy.
Despite the heavy rain, hundreds of school children, government officials and diplomats gathered at Albert Park for the celebrations earlier today.
Tomorrow is the President's national address and the Fiji Day Parade by the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces.
