It was a Fiji Day to remember for the villagers of Oneata in the Lau group, when the consultation team from the Draft People's Charter visited them last Saturday.

Representative of the Tikina Oneata Rusiate Soqoiwasa said the Charter team did not only discuss the process of the Charter, they also brought with them the Naval team for the flag raising ceremony on the island.

Soqoiwasa added that although Oneata people have different views about the Charter as most of them do not support it, the atmosphere on the day of the Fiji Day celebrations made the difference as people and the visitors feasted on fish and pork.

The Head of the Tikina said at the end of the day it is the individual's decision which will be counted on the Charter.

The Consultation team spent 3 days in Oneata.
