A total of 96 cases of sexually related offences were recorded last year in the Northern Division alone.
Regional Police Commander Northern SSP Luke Qionibaravi has confirmed that the cases include defilement of girls under the age of 16, rape, incest, unnatural offences and indecent assault.
He has also confirmed that this year a lot of juveniles under the age of 17 were also taken in for questioning for allegedly committing some of these offences.
Qionibaravi is also concerned that in most of these cases, the victims were related to the offenders.
