The Police and National fire Authority are now looking into the cause of a fire in Nadi which has left nine people homeless.

The four bedroom house located in Tunalia Road in Nadi was burnt to the ground along with all the contents of the house.

The National Fire Authority reveals that they received an emergency call at around 9.28am on Sunday morning.

No one was at home at the time of the fire

The cost of damage and what the cause was will be determined once their firefighters finish investigation.

Meanwhile, Acting Chief Fire Officer, Qionilau Moceitai said people need to alert them as soon as possible to save their property and avoid any fatalities.

This call follows revelation that after receiving the call the fire fighters rushed to the scene but the house was fully engulfed in flames, however the firefighters managed to stop the flames from spreading to other nearby houses.

A total of 102 fires have been recorded this year for commercial, property as well as house fires with 98 house fires so far.
