Nine people have just been rescued from their Bila Home in Namaka as flood waters rushed into their house.
The Police Command Centre in lautoka says that the family had to be rescued as they were surprised with the sudden rush of water.
Meanwhile, Police also reveal that the heavy rain has washed away the Navadraga, Sovalau and Naboutini Bridges with the Wailoku Bridge in Sabeto under 15 to 20 feet of water.
Police also reveal that the Nadi Back Road is under 4 feet of water and reveal that Nadi is currently experiencing very heavy downpour and that the Nadi Hospital is also closed to traffic.
Meanwhile, In rakiraki, the market area in town has been closed to traffic as it is under 4 feet of water however they also add that water is slowly receding.
