Nine police officers remain suspended from the force with pay after they were allegedly involved in corrupt dealings with various members of the public.

Assistant Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu said they have an internal investigation underway and nothing further will be said.

The nine police officers include a chief officer, 3 subordinate officers and 5 gazetted officers.

Their names have not been revealed as it has been stressed that it is an internal investigation.

According to police any officer found to be engaging in corrupt or illegal dealings will be punished in accordance with the laws of the country.

The nine were suspended last month.
