Nine Chinese businessmen in Fiji who have excelled in Agriculture, Catering, Advertising Design and other businesses this year were recognised at an awards function last night.

Chief Guest at the awards last night in Suva, the Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said since the arrival of the first Chinese a hundred fifty years ago in Fiji, the Chinese community has contributed largely in the Commerce, Trade and Private sectors.

Bainimarama added that the Chinese have also contributed in the Education Sector and a good example is the Yat Sen School which is run by the Chinese Association of Fiji.

He said his Government is committed to remove corruption in Fiji and he will want to see Chinese businessmen participate in the objectives.

Meanwhile one of the Award winners is Larry Tan who runs the renown Restaurant in Suva, "Jojis" said he attributes his success to his hard working staff.
