Nine Asian Nationals have been arrested and are in custody for breaching their visa permits and or having expired visas.

This has been confirmed by Police Sergeant Suliano Tevita who said this was a result of a joint operation between Police Force and the Immigration Department.

Tevita said immigration officers raided four houses in Lekutu St, Nailuva and Extension St last night between 9pm and 1am where 7 Chinese women nationals were found breaching their visa permits.

In a separate case, Tevita said two male asian national were taken last night after police and immigration officials had found them with expired visas, one which had expired in 2004 while the second man's had expired last year.

All nine are awaiting deportation.
