42 percent of Fiji's student population and about 68 percent of all primary and secondary schools are part of the government's Transport Assistance Scheme.
The Education Ministry said 84 thousand 358 students from 622 schools are part of the scheme.
Education Minister, Filipe Bole said teachers in charge of the coupons are reminded of the importance of keeping coupons in a safe place.
Bole also stresses that if there are instances of missing coupons due to negligence, teachers in charge will be surcharged.
He said schools are again reminded to submit their acquittals as soon as possible to ease the bus fare assistance processes.
