Figures revealed by the Fiji Police Force show that close to 800 drivers are booked for traffic offences every week.
Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra said the offences include drunk driving, dangerous and careless driving and some other offences.
He has also raised concern that some drivers who have a license for private vehicles are driving public service vehicles.
According to Mishra, these are the drivers who fail to produce their license when checks are carried out by law enforcement agencies.
