An 8 year old boy died yesterday afternoon in Sigatoka after he was hit by a car at Natadola Road.
Assistant police spokesperson Sergeant Suliano Tevita confirmed the boy was crossing the road when he was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
The boy was rushed to Sigatoka Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The driver has been taken into custody.
The road death toll now stands at 24 compared to 35 for the same period last year.
