A 47-year-old unemployed men of Rakiraki is in police custody for allegedly committing an Unnatural Offence on a class one student in their settlement yesterday morning.
The victim was playing with one of his friends and the suspect in his room when the alleged incident took place. The man left the victim's friend outside the house before committing the offence.
The suspect's sister-in-law, who lives in the same house grew suspicious and upon checking saw the man allegedly sodomising the child.
The man has been charged with one count of sodomy and will appear in the Rakiraki court on Monday.
Police have urged parents and guardians to closely supervise their children.
In another incident, a 35 year old sales consultant is in police custody for allegedly raping a 21 year old clerical officer in Nausori yesterday morning.
The man was asked by the victim to drop her home in his car after a party at Nausori when the alleged incident took place.
Police arrested the suspect at the scene and investigations are continuing.
Meanwhile, Sigatoka Police are still questioning a 35 year old man of Sigatoka for allegedly raping his two teenage nieces.
Sigatoka Police have confirmed that the alleged incident took place between April and October this year when the man who is the victim's uncle is alleged to have threatened and raped the twin sisters, aged 19 years.
The matter was reported to police after the suspects daughter caught him red-handed raping one of the victims.
It is alleged that the man raped one of the victim four times while the other sister was allegedly raped three times.
