Eight provincial rugby teams will be vying for the prestigious Bougainville trophy which kicked off today.
Colonel Amani Suliano said these teams are within the Republic of Fiji Military Forces and are also from around the country.
According to Colonel Suliano, the Bougainville trophy holds a lot of history.
He added that this is where the Army coaches scout for players for their 15s and 7s teams.
Some prominent players that will be taking part in this tournament are Leone Nakarawa, Dale Tonawai, Napolioni Naulia, Saula Koro, Waqabaca Kotobalavu and Ilimo Tava.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama officially launched the tournament.
