Police Search and Rescue Center has urged mariners and coastal villagers in the Lomaiviti group to keep an eye out on eight people who have been missing at sea since yesterday.
According to the Police Search and Rescue, six males and two females left from Nakelo landing for Lamiti village Gau Island yesterday morning and were suppose to arrive at Lamiti village after four hours but the 8 passengers on a white fibre glass punt never reached their destination.
The Police Search and Rescue said they managed to report that they have developed engine problem at sea near Sawaieke village in Gau and were drifting.
