As most health centers around the country remain closed, major hospitals are trying their best to continue to provide normal health services as the Fiji Nursing Association strike continues into the 7th day.

Director Health Services Northern, Dr Ami Chand confirms a total of 15 health centers in the Northern division remain closed.

He adds the four major hospitals in the division have remained open despite the nurses’ strike and are coping well in providing health services to people.

For the Western Division, a total of 51 health centers remain closed as all major hospitals remain open however services not up to par.

For Central/Eastern Division 25 health centers remain open while 10 are closed.

The Director Health Services Central/Eastern Salanieta Saketa is yet to comment on the services being provided in the division, however services are expected to be similar of other divisions.
