Having lost most of the key players overseas, Digicel Fiji Sevens team coach Alifereti Dere is optimistic that there are players who can continue where they left off last season.
The 12-member team will be selected from a pool of 44 players as Dere said he will be looking at players who played in the Digicel Cup competition.
Players that have secured overseas contracts include brothers Waisea Nayacalevu and Avenisi Vasuinubu, Joeli Lutmailagi, Jimilai Naikadawa and Nikola Matawalu.
44 players will undergo a fitness test tomorrow.
The first leg of the IRB Sevens Series will be on the 13th and 14th of next month in Gold Coast where Fiji is the defending champion.
