7s team tests combinations
Playing against the best two local 7s team in the country, Red Rock and Wardens, national 7s coach Iliesa Tanivula tried out all of his 12 players to give him and his assistant Joe Savou time to study the players and try out some combinations.
Newcomer Peni Gaunimeke ran in at playmaker and showed rugby fans that were present at the grounds that he is ready for his much awaited break in the international scene.
Also Nadroga’s Apisai Navoro looks set to be the answer out wide with his burning speed.
Other players that look certain to be in the run on Fiji team next Friday are Jerry Burotu, Watisoni Votu, Apisai Nayabo, Emosi Vucago and Joeli Lutumailagi.
The Fiji 7s team will leave our shores on Monday for the NZ 7s which starts on Friday.
