The Digicel Fiji 7s team's preparation for the second leg of the IRB World 7s Series looks on track after they thrashed USA Cougars 45-5 in a build-up match yesterday at Churchill Park.

Coach Iliesa Tanivula used different combinations in yesterday's match, to see what best possible team he will be fielding at the New Zealand International 7s tournament next week.

The match was played over three seven minute intervals and all the players in the squad even the non-travelling reserves were given the chance to play.

Tanivula was happy with what he saw yesterday and said few more areas needed fixing and the side will be ready to showcase their skills in Wellington.

The Digicel Fiji 7s team departs for Wellington this afternoon and the New Zealand International 7s tournament kicks off next Friday.
