7s team overwhelmed by support
Fijian supporters wore traditional dress as thousands of fans lined up on the streets of Wellington to kick start the New Zealand 7s celebration.
However, national 7s coach Ben Ryan remains optimistic of an improved performance from the players this weekend.
Despite a disappointing outing in Las Vegas two weeks ago, Ryan has assured fans to expect a fired up Fijian side.
Concerns were raised after the USA 7s when Ryan kept on changing his starting lineup in every game as well as using Lepani Botia at rover while his usual position is at hooker.
Speaking to Fijivillage from Wellington, Ryan has cleared the air on the issue and said that it all depends on their opposition on the day.
Fiji will take on New Zealand in their first pool match at 2.06pm, their second pool match is against France at 5.35pm and they will face Spain at 7.28pm in their last pool match this Friday.
The Cup quarterfinals kick off at 1.33pm Saturday, the Cup semifinals are scheduled for 5.35pm while the Cup final kicks off at 8.30pm.
