The Digicel Fiji 7s team may not take part in the Mini Pacific Games in the Cook Islands if they do not defend the World Games title this weekend in Taiwan.
Acting CEO Keni Dakuidreketi said FRU has given the green light for the side to play in the Mini Games however to enter a tournament costs money and they are waiting for the results this weekend.
Fiji play the first match of the tournament against Hong Kong and then face Japan before playing Argentina the runner up at the Rugby World Cup 7s.
South Africa is seeded in another pool with Portugal, USA and Chinese Taipei.
Meanwhile, the Mini Pacific Games will be held in September in the Cook Islands.
