The Digicel Fiji 7s team left this morning for the opening leg of the IRB 7s series with high hopes that they can do better than last year's results.

With the Sri Lanka 7s title to defend this weekend, before Dubai next weekend, manager Sale Sorovaki said that like any Fiji team that leaves our shore they are hoping to win in both Dubai and South Africa.

Sorovaki added that the Sri Lanka 7s will be used by coach Iliesa Tanivula to fine tune his players ahead of Dubai which has been a tournament where Fiji has struggled to reach the final in the past year.

The Sri Lanka 7s kicks off this weekend while the Dubai 7s will be held on the 4th and 5th of next month.
