Digicel Fiji 7s coach Iliesa Tanivula is hoping to win all their pool games today and early tomorrow morning to avoid meeting reigning champions South Africa in the Cup quarterfinals.
Barring any upsets in Pool games, Fiji, if they finish top in Pool B, are expected to face Australia in the last quarterfinal and could meet either England or Argentina in the semifinal.
But if they go in as second from their pool, they are likely to meet South Africa in the quarters and New Zealand in the semis, depending on their results.
Tanivula said they have only one thing in mind and that is to finish on top.
Meanwhile Scotland coach Stephen Gemmell said their chances of reaching to the last eight will depend in their opening match against Fiji.
The Dubai 7s tournament kicks off today at 6:20pm with the opening match between Fiji and Scotland.
Fiji's second pool match will be against Zimbabwe today at 9:56pm and tomorrow morning at 3:30am, they take on Samoa.
