The Digicel Fiji 7’s team has confirmed their spot in this afternoon’s quarterfinal after their last pool game victory by 15-0 against Wales last night.

Tries by William Ryder and Lepani Nabuliwaqa helped Fiji to a tight victory to top Pool D.

The Welsh defended valiantly to keep out the exciting Fijians and in restricting them to three tries also protected their own points difference enough to qualify for the Cup quarters.

Ryder was also in sparkling form as Fiji earlier saw off Zimbabwe 42-14 to add to their 42-7 win against Korea on day one.

In this afternoons quarterfinals New Zealand takes on Wales at 4:41pm, then Fiji meets Kenya at 5:03pm, South Africa meets Australia in the third quarterfinal at 5:25pm and England who upset defending champions Samoa by 7-5 in pool play will again meet in the last quarterfinal at 5:47pm.
