$76m cyclone damage-DISMAC
In the latest situation report, DISMAC the education sector recorded an increase in damage to its infrastructure, which increased from $1.5million dollars to over $4million dollars, majority of which was recorded in the Eastern Division.
The Agriculture sector remains the most affected, with $49 million dollars worth of damage, bulk of which is recorded in the Northern Division, in the province of Cakaudrove sustaining more than $41million dollars worth of damage to crops.
DISMAC states that the figures are still progressive and more updates are still being received as assessment continues in affected areas.
Meanwhile the Health Ministry recorded close to $1.4 million dollars worth of damage to its infrastructure.
Spokesperson Iliesa Tora said they will ask for help from donor agencies if the need arises as there is money allocated in the Ministry's 2010 National Budget, for rehabilitation and renovation and this will be used for damage repairs.
