71 year old allegedly defiles girl
Assistant Spokesperson, Corporal Suliano Tevita has confirmed the incident took place several times between January 2007 and late March this year.
It is alleged that the suspect who lives in the same neighborhood with the victim, usually called her to his house after school and allegedly defiled her over a period of time.
Upon information received, police visited the family and the victim was taken to hospital for medical examination where it was revealed that the girl is 6 to 7 months pregnant.
Meanwhile, police are looking for a man who is alleged to have raped a 22 year old woman in Sigatoka yesterday.
The victim was at a drinking party with the man and some other friends when the man took her to a vacant house where the alleged rape took place. She received injuries during the attack. The man whose identity is known to the police is still at large and is expected to be arrested soon.
