3 men who pleaded guilty to robbery with violence in Qila, Taveuni last month have been sentenced to up to seven years imprisonment today by the Taveuni Magistrates court.

Samuela Nauve and Elenava Raukavu were sentenced to 7 years imprisonment each while Kalokalo Vakayaratabua will spend the next six years of his life behind bars..

The court heard that the 3 went to Taveuni last month and forcefully entered a businessman's resident at Qila and stole $26,000 in cash and assorted items worth thousands of dollars.

Magistrate Penijamini Lomaloma told the 3 men that the court will not tolerate such crimes and harsh penalties will be imposed.
