A father is calling for assistance from members of the public after his 7-year-old daughter, Mereani Veitoyaki went missing from Narain Jetty at Walu Bay early yesterday morning.
Atanasio Veitoyaki says his daughter had come in a boat from Taveuni to Suva.
He told Fijivillage that the 7-year-old girl had left Taveuni with her uncle, aunt and 15-year-old cousin.
They reached Narain Jetty at 4am yesterday and Mereani came out of the boat with her 15-year-old cousin.
Veitoyaki says the cousin then left his daughter outside the boat and went in to get her bag.
When she came out of the boat, Mereani could not be seen anywhere.
Mereani’s father says he was looking for his daughter all over Suva and checking at the homes of all the relatives however they have not been able to locate her.
He was planning to go to Police later this morning however we have contacted Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro with the information and the contact in the last hour. They are now gathering information about the missing 7-year-old.
