A 7-year-old student is in critical condition at the CWM hospital after he was hit by a vehicle in Marine Drive, Lami yesterday afternoon.
The Class 2 student was crossing the road when he was hit by a private vehicle.
He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
The driver is in police custody and charges are expected to be laid soon.
Police are calling on motorist to be more cautious while using the road especially when young children are crossing the road.
Meanwhile, an 8 year old boy who jumped from a moving vehicle in Labasa is still admitted at the Labasa hospital.
His 5 year old brother who also jumped with him, died as a result.
The two jumped off a three tonne truck.
