Seven political parties will contest the September 17th general elections.
Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem said this follows the confirmation of the OneFiji Party as a political party.
Saneem said the Proposed Activist Party has missed out and will not be registered in time for next month’s elections.
The seven parties to contest the elections are the FijiFirst Party, the Fiji Labour Party, the Fiji United Freedom Party, the National Federation Party, the OneFiji Party, the People’s Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Liberal Party.
The party registration period closes at 6 tonight.
