Seven people from Labasa who allegedly robbed a lawyer yesterday morning have been taken into police custody.

Assistant Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed the seven allegedly stormed into the lawyer's house in Naodamu, Labasa, at 5 yesterday morning.

The robbers then threatened the family with cane knives and walked away with $2000 in cash and other assorted items.

The seven were arrested soon after the robbery after quick action by police.

Inspector Sokomuri said the seven were drunk during the time of the robbery and they believe the robbers were looking for money to buy more drinks for themselves.
