Seven people are expected to appear in the Suva Magistrates Court this hour charged with treason, inciting mutiny and conspiracy to commit murder.

The Suva court house area has been cordoned off and Police Tactical Response Unit officers are standing guard as the people charged are transported to the court cell.

So far former senior military officer, Jone Baledrokadroka and politician, Peceli Rinakama has been brought in. Others are being transported to the Suva court house.

A total of 16 people were held in police custody as of this morning in relation to the alleged plot to assassinate the Interim Prime Minister, some senior members of the RFMF and the interim cabinet.
