The seven men who allegedly raped a 12yr old student in Bua last week, this morning appeared in the Labasa Magistrate's court.
Appearing before Magistrate Peni Lomaloma, the seven men, who are from Lutukina village in Cakaudrove, were ordered to be remanded in custody for their own safety until the next hearing of the case on the 19th of January.
No plea was taken this morning as the group was also told to find legal counsel for themselves.
It is alleged that the seven, who were believed to be drunk at the time, raped the 12yr old student while she was spending Christmas with her relatives in Bua.
