The police drug unit has recorded a 64 percent in reduction of marijuana uprooted as recorded for the same period last year.
Assistant Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the revelation was made by the Drug Unit while they were making presentation to the Commissioner of Police Brigadier Iowane Naivalurua yesterday.
Commissioner was told that the reduction was achieved through the assistance and support of the community.
During the same period last year a total of 49,985 plants were uprooted, with the western region recording the most number of plants
Navosah still remains as a major area of marijuana cultivation.
