It will be a 6 way battle for the senior boy’s blue ribbon event at the Coca-Cola Games.

With last champion, Iowane Dovumatua not running this year athletes like Suva Grammar's sprinters Mataiasi Savou, Sireli Degei, QVS's Jolame Waqavonovono, Sila Central's Tevita Nalovo and Natabua High School's Alfred Smith are all vying for the gold medal.

Experience in the event from the past 2 years is Smith and his former Natabua school mate Degei who have already won silver and bronze respectively last year.

The fastest time record in the Zone came in the Tailevu Zone to Waqavonovono who clocked a time of 10.7 seconds in the final.

Nalovo also clocked 10.76 seconds which makes him the second fastest man in the 100m event.

Suva Grammar's Mataiasi Savou who won gold in the Suva Zone 2 in a time of 10.9 seconds is coached by SPG sprint King Jone Delai and he will be the favourites for gold.

The 2009 Coca Cola Games will kick off at the TFL Stadium on Friday.
