Six people today pleaded guilty to drunk driving charges in the Suva Magistrate’s Court.

The six were arrested on Saturday night in the Central Division.

Magistrate Mary Muir fined each of them $300 and disqualified their driving license for three months.

Two appeared in the Nasinu Magistrate’s Court today before Justice Alofa Seruvatu.

The two pleaded guilty to drunk and driving charges and will be sentenced in February next year.

Meanwhile, four people were arrested last night at various checkpoints around the country for driving vehicles under the influence of liqour.

They will appear in court tomorrow.

Director Traffic SSP Mahesh Mishra said their operations around the country will continue till next year and they will not tolerate any drunk driver.
