Residents living along the Suva/Nausori Corridor will get six new reservoirs and improved catchment plants by the end of the year.
The Asian Development Bank has given the Water Supply Department a total of $76 million dollar for the project to get underway.
Project Manager and the Divisional Water Engineer Central/Eastern, Serei-Cocoko-Yanuyanurua said the assistance is timely as there is a high demand for water along the corridor.
Yanuyanurua also confirms that the reservoirs are expected to be completed by end of May while the other projects which include the improvement to the catchment and treatment plants will be completed by the end of this year.
