There are six new names in the first All Blacks squad of the year.

Coach Steve Hansen has named the squad to take on France with Ben Afeaki, Jeremy Thrush, Steven Luatua, Frances Saili and Charles Piutau all first timers in the squad.

Rene Ranger has received a recall and uncapped Matt Todd has been selected as openside flanker injury cover.

Kieran Read has been confirmed as captain in Richie McCaw’s absence.

Three first-fives have been taken, with Beauden Barrett joining Daniel Carter and Aaron Cruden.

The All Blacks will play France in the first test this Saturday in Auckland.

Meanwhile, looking at the Super rugby results of last night and this morning, the Highlanders beat the Blues 38-28, the Reds have beaten the Melbourne Rebels 33- 20, Bulls defeated the Cheetahs 30-25 while the Stormers beat the Kings 19-11.
