There will be mandatory six months fitness inspection for all public service vehicles while owners will also have to pay new inspection application fees.
This is the message from the Land Transport Authority LTA Manager Standards and Compliance, Naisa Tuinaceva said all taxis, minibuses, omnibuses, licensed carriers, Rural Service License, hire cars and rental cars have to undergo this process to ensure its safe to travel in.
He said new inspection fees will also be implemented and these are $54.00 for all PSV vehicles and $35.00 for all commercial vehicles adding the increase is to cater for the labour used on these inspections.
He said these changes will be effective on the expiry of the current fitness in 2010.
