The Commissioner Northern has stressed that $5 million provided by the interim government in this year's National budget for Northern Development program is being wisely utilized.
Lt Colonel Inia Seruiratu said bulk of the money has been spent on improving roads and other infrastructure.
Meanwhile, he added that the tourism sector is also progressing in the North.
More funds have been requested from the interim government in the 2009 Budget to revive the Northern economy.
