The Fiji Open Golf Championship tournament is expected to be launched this evening with more than 140 registered players.

Fiji Golf Club Captain Baljit Singh said that 50 overseas players are expected to participate.

Singh added that last year's champion Ryan Fox will be defending his title as well.


Fox who is the son of All Blacks Legend Grant Fox is among the 50 overseas players.

$30,000 is the total prize money where $6,300 will go to the winner.

The launch of the tournament will be at 7 tonight where the Minister for Youth and Sports Viliame Naupoto will be Chief Guest.

The Fiji Open Golf Championship tournament will start tomorrow and ends on Sunday.
