A five year old girl is the country's latest drowning victim.
Police Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri says the young girl was with her aunty and other relatives who went swimming near My Suva park yesterday afternoon.
Sokomuri says after swimming everyone came out except for the little girl who ran back for another swim.
He adds that her relatives tried to locate her but were unsuccessful after which they sorted the help of police.
The young girl's body was found floating few meters away from the shore at 4.30pm.
Police are advising parents and guardians to be cautious of their children when they go out for picnics during this season.
