Police have arrested and charged 5 people in relations to the murder of a 76 year old villager of Nabouwalu over a chiefly title last week.
The 5 are currently in the custody at the Labasa Police Station and are expected to appear in the Labasa Magistrates court this morning.
The incident took place when a brawl broke out between villagers of Nabouwalu and Vuniyasa over the title of Buli Raviravi which was left vacant following the chief’s death earlier this year.
It is alleged that the five men struck the 76 year old with a knife, which led to his death.
