Team Fiji will field five teams in the semifinals of the Open event in the World Hobie Cat championship starting this morning.

Team captain Graham Southwick is confident that at least two would make the finals after a good performance in the qualifying stages.

Southwick said organisers and the sailors are hoping for good winds today so that semifinals can start on time.

The top 46 boats have qualified for the semifinals and there are three pre-qualified teams that have entered, paid their money, but have not registered onsite. There inclusion will be decided today before the races get underway.
